Eli, from my old Ghost Blade project. He's like, the hero of the Ghost Blade story. He's kinda emo 'cause his Dad died.

Oh yeah, Eli. It really depends on the culture for this one. I've heard a couple people tell me it was a female name. He's actually named after a high priest in the book of... Uh. I think it was Samuel. Interesting fact: El in Hebrew refers to God, and is one of the names of God. You've got Elohim which means "God the creator", El Shaddai "God all sufficient". And other stuff. In names, using El in a hebrew name can be used to portray one of God's characteristics in that person's life. "God is my rock" and stuff.

Uh, I don't know what "Eli" means. *looks it up* Eli means "Ascended" or "My God on High". Aaaand, according to a cencus poll it is rising in popularity as a name that people name their babies (in US and Canada). And yes, that is the results as a boy's name. *sticks tounge out at nay-sayers*

*reading stuff* This is interesting. Did you know "Sophia" means "The Wisdom of God"? Man, I thought it was just a cute girls name XD. Names are fun stuff, man.

I'd like, want to look more into the meanings of names like, next time I make new characters. I could find a name that really fits. Well, take "Toca" for example. Toca. I just got it from the name of an awesome techno song. "Toca's Miricle". I find out later that "Toca" in spanish means "To play a musical instrument". Also, the name of a bongo company and a PS2 game. In some cultures, Toca is a mans name from what I gather.
